Muga - There Is Nothing Eternal Exists

OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK, NEW FUCKING MUGA, JIZZWORTHY.

Muga - There Is Nothing Eternal Exists

I'm fucking listening right now, for the first time, so I can't even formulate a true comment on its quality.

BUT IT'S FUCKING MUGA.

MUGA

So, yea, I'm done being a fanboy for now, so here's my honest opinion. It's sorta better than their self titled. Why sorta? Well, I'll say that overall, the songs on Eternal are superior, but I personally felt that the S/T had a much better flow to it. Also, two of the songs on Eternal are just re-recordings of Road To Asura songs, so that takes off a few points (but hey, we have titles for two of those tracks now!).

The tracks though, oh god. The last two make the album worth it. Wings of Hope starts with an acoustic guitar straight out of a Leone movie, and it's just badass (though I love western style acoustic guitars). It just slowly adds more instruments and speed until it gets to the crescendo, and then FUCKBAM, awesome. Some sort of neo-crust western theme for the new millennium. Then, after this we get the album ender, The Womb and the Universe. I was worried, because Journey To The End was so perfect, I figured Muga couldn't top it with their new one. I was wrong. Taking a page form Wormwood, they add in all sorts of weird outsider instruments, like a piano and some haunting diabolic organ towards the last third of the track. It's a lot slower than most Muga tracks, and actually sounds pretty mournful, even with all the crust that's still there.

But seriously, the album wins for those last two tracks alone. Add in the other seven, and you have just a phenomenal album, and a worthy successor to their self titled.

I have to agree with you! This is a fantastic release. Have been a MUGA fan since their first release and have been friendly with them for awhile as well. I am based in Japan and have been for the last decade or so. I am very close friends with Effigy and was a friend of Kawakami from Disclose before he passed away...
Also see the guys from corrupted now and then and chang out a bit with them when they come to town.

Anyway, if there is anything I can do to help you out. If you are looking for releases or information or whatever, please don't hesitate to contact me. I would love to share the glory of Japanese crust/hardcore as well as insider info because it is fucking impossible to find shit out unless you know these guys!!!! I think alot of people would love to know more about these bands...

You can contact me via hotmail from my own blogger profile if you like! All the best and keep up the fantastic work!!! Your blog is awesome and informative!

Finally after years of searching I know the name of this awesome Japanese crust band. I found this old Japanese sampler cd among my chaotic collection (without sleeve) probably from an old metal hammer or terrorizer mag? And a couple of songs really stood out. Like crank to volume to red line, goosebumps and manic behaviour inducing standing out. Especially the duet sections with the male animal growls and the vicious venomous female vocals did it for me. Also the tracks on the sampler cd had a very fat production. Turns out it was MUGA!
Hard to find any info about these sicko's.
Where can I buy their albums (preferable hard copies but download is fine too), merchandise, see them live, website, contact them etc?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

Well after 2 days digging I got the complete discography (except for the Swaarrm split, any idea where I can find that?) and have the self titled LP in order.
Turns out the sampler I had was the Japanese Assault cd. And Muga's contribution all came from the self titled debut. Which is also my favorite release so far.
What made Muga stand out for me were the vocals of the female member Koketsu.
How utterly depressing to find out that the band you've been searching for for years no long has Koketsu among them due to her tragic suicide. What a waste....
Her vocals were among the very best extreme female vocals I have ever heard. Rabid, aggressive, wonderful tone, great rhythmic feel and just awesome all over.
Don't get me wrong Muga is still a VERY good crust band without her and the male vocals are also several steps above you average vocals. And musically "there is nothing external exists" is maybe better then the debut.
However for me the charm is kinda lost. RIP Koketsu....
